Fees and Insurance
My fee is $90 per hour. A sliding scale/cash pay discount is available when space permits.

I accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance. Please inquire about other insurance programs. I also accept Crime Victim's Compensation, and can help you apply for this program if you have been a victim of a person crime, including domestic violence, child abuse, sex abuse, and rape. This program pays for your counseling if you qualify. I do not take OHP or Providence at this time.

My approach
I use strength-based and solution focused modalities. This means that we'll probably talk about the skills you already have for problem-solving (because we all have some), the things that have worked well for you in the past, and how things would look and feel in your ideal future. This will help us build upon your prior successes and help us know when we are progressing toward your goals. I believe it can be important to understand the root of struggles (whether recent or many years ago),but this is often only a small piece of future-focused work and creating the life you want to live.

I am trained in evidence-based therapies, and use therapy techniques that have been shown to have good success for people over time. However, every person is different and you and I will plan our course of therapy based on your individual needs. I am happy to use methods that draw upon your learning style, and will incorporate visuals, role playing, or art techniques in addition to standard talk-therapy if this improves your ability to benefit from counseling.

I offer reports to court, testifying, employment mandated mental health screening, and therapeutic visitation.
